Downtown Houses – Block 8 with a pattern

Downtown Houses - block 8 in my Craftsy Pattern Store - francenadeau.comDowntown Houses - block 8 with a pattern - francenadeau.com

This house is high in colors. The door, particularly exuberant, attract the eyes. Strangely, the door frame and the window frames are of different colors. But, as the various colors of the house are reflected in the garden, the whole creates a view the passerby enjoy to see.  The flower pot in the kitchen window announces that this is a happy house.

The pattern is available in French and in English in my Craftsy Pattern Store. This pattern has 7 pages and includes instructions about cutting the appliques, a guide for positioning the appliques, patterns in actual size and pictures showing the embroidery stitches.

Downtown Houses – Block 6 with a pattern

Downtown Houses block 6 - pattern at francenadeau.com

This house is high in colors. The door and the window frames were carefully decorated. The number of windowpanes add even more richness to the deep red frames. Each window has its elegant flower box. The roof, with its sandy-beige color, contrast beautifully the busy design of the front wall. The minimalist front garden was planned as to not distract the eyes from this magnificence.

Downtown Houses – Block 5 with a pattern

Downtown Houses - Block 5 - pattern available at francenadeau.com

This is the fifth house in my series of Downtown Houses. This one has a rustic look. It is a few centuries old and must have been there when downtown was a mere cluster surrounded by cultivated grounds.

Not-So-Sweet Bunnies

Not-So-Sweet Bunnies - francenadeau.com

Those two are not-so-sweet bunnies. They are not the usual gentle bunnies we see around Easter time. But they are the kind my sons like.

I crocheted the bodies with cotton yarn. I followed the tutorial generously written by Kristi. I filled the bunnies with old bed sheets that I cut into 1″ stripes. The appliqués are made of old t-shirt fabric.

The pink t-shirt was the only suitable pink fabric I had on hand and I had some difficulties stitching it on the crocheted cotton yarn. I am sure you noticed that the eyes of the scared-looking rabbid are far from perfect. But I think they look good enough. Making them was a lot of fun. With my sons frequently checking on the progress…

Happy Easter!
