I have finished stitching the yellow filling of the flowers, as well as the brown outlining.
I have prepared a photo-tutorial with the pictures I took while making this Butterfly Garden mini quilt. You can find it here.
The Butterfly Garden fabrics can be purchased in my Spoonflower Shop.
These designs can be printed on a wide range of fabrics: cotton, silk, satin, crêpe de Chine, lycra, knit, Jersey, etc.
This mini quilt was made with Kona Cotton Ultra, unto which colors appear slightly faded.
You can see more pictures of this collection on My Fabric Designs page.
This is a project I have started many years ago. I worked diligently on it for some time, then put it aside. The letters and the flowers come from a French magazine Marie-Claire Idées. I made my own color choices and the result was somewhat lacking in term of contrast.
I started outlining the letters, the flowers and the leaves with contrasting colors. When I look at them now, I’m reminded of medieval paintings or drawings depicting a garden scene. Hence the name.
