The pattern for the kitten was given freely by Circle of Crafters. Unfortunately, it seems that it’s no longer online.
These cat eyes were made using a paper-piecing pattern that was created by Soma Acharya, from Whims and Fancies.
After completing the first eye, I realised that I forgot one piece. It was supposed to be right at the tip of my seam ripper, in the picture below. Hmmm.
Thankfully, I was working with non-fraying fabric (old t-shirts) and was able to add the missing piece without too much trouble.
A fun project, made with very little material. Scraps of old and new fabric, left over yarn, some embroidery floss, orphaned buttons and a few beads. A few of these Bunnies and Kitties have been distributed last Easter.
The big blue and white cat is my favorite. Which one is yours?
If you wish to see the previous steps in making them, the links to my posts are below. Have a good week,
My Bunnies and Kitties now have a scalloped edge made of soft baby yarn. And tails. The next step will give them faces. And maybe some more decorations involving lace, ribbons and beads.
