A sweater to keep a little girl warm. The little girl is my niece and the sweater was a birthday present. To go with the quilt I made, Butterflies in the Garden.
I chose a silky medium-size yarn, and a medium crochet hook (4.5 mm). I didn’t follow a pattern as I had a definite idea in my mind: scallops, contrasting borders and hardanger-like details. And, as fate was on my side, the colors were in perfect harmony with the Butterflies in the Garden quilt.
I started with a chain in what we call in French vieux rose (old pink). I love that particular pink. It is soft to the eyes and makes me think of vintage tea cups and saucers … aromatic tea, pretty sandwiches, decadent little desserts…
The sweater is made of rows of double crochet and a few rows of simple crochet. The borders are made last with scallops. All parts are rectangles. Fast, easy, pink and girlie!
