I made this hat and this cowl with a fiery sock yarn. This yarn is a leftover from the Log Cabin Afghan I crocheted last fall. The afghan was a Christmas gift and I was very happy to have some of this gorgeous yarn left for myself. I crocheted the hat first and was able to made a small cowl. Which could only make me happy.

  1. Hi France,
That orange is such a gorgeous warming colour ….. and you have used such a pretty pattern …. your hat and cowl will keep you toasty warm this winter for sure! And I love the beautiful cover you made for your mother …. my mother made something very similar last year, I bet she’d like to make one like yours …. I know she was looking for a new project!!! I’m off to “show” her these pictures!
    Hugs, Barbara xx

    • The pattern for the hat is by Patons, provided by Yarnspirations.com. The hat is certainly warm as the yarn is made of wool.
The log cabin afghan is one I enjoyed to make and if your mother made something similar, she may enjoy making this one. I can send you the link for the pdf pattern, should you wish it. 🙂
