Eight-Petal Crochet Flower

I needed a special birthday card. For my father. I also wanted to crochet something. Maybe you know the feeling… hands itching for yarn and hook. While relaxing in a comfortable chair. After looking at many gorgeous pictures of crocheted butterflies (you may guess where I went for that), I decided to follow a chart provided by Lion Brand Yarns. But it was not enough. Even though the butterfly looked beautiful on the scrapbook paper, something more was needed to fill the space. Flowers was the natural choice. I did not want to loose more time deciding on a chart so I simply took the same yarn and hook and created very quickly the eight-petal crochet flower.

This is a cute little flower. Very easy to make. And this is the perfect companion for the butterfly on my father’s birthday card. The yarn I used  is a mix of merino (60%) and nylon (40%). It looks a little like cord. Of course, other kind of yarn can be used.

I prepared a chart for this flower, that you can see below, in case you would like to make this lovely little flower. You can also find a printable tutorial on my web site (it is in English and in French). I hope you like it!
