I have made a photo-tutorial with the pictures I took while making these Butterfly Garden pincushions. You can find the tutorial here.

The Butterfly Garden fabrics can be purchased in my Spoonflower Shop.
These designs can be printed on a wide range of fabrics: cotton, silk, satin, crêpe de Chine, lycra, knit, Jersey, etc.
These little cushions were made with Kona Cotton Ultra, unto which colors appear slightly faded.

You can see more pictures of this collection on My Fabric Designs page.

I was inspired by a tutorial offered by sew4home. I write inspired because the clutch I made does not really look like theirs. Still, I started with their idea. You can find the tutorial here.

As I made it as a gift for my father, I chose a robust material—jeans. I also added a zipper to ensure the content will remain inside when he goes biking or fishing. I would not want him to loose his keys in a river…

Everything come from old clothes, including the metal pieces that were attached to the navy twill tape (they were sewn on a child overalls) .
